The SEHA has been closed. Paul Nordan, treasurer-for-life and long-time stalwart of SEHA, described it this way: “The SEHA has been in a state of limbo for the past couple of years. There has not been sufficient interest to conduct successful activities. Many of us are involved with family and other horse activities. With this in mind the SEHA Board has agreed to end the Association. We have been paying for insurance each year to cover activities that few participated in. We are distributing the funds that remain in the account to those members who had a paid membership in 2008. I have enjoyed my association with SEHA and cherish the memories and friendships developed. My personal thanks for the support and friendships of SEHA friends over the last 14 years.”

The still-current parts of the previous web page follow:

The Haflinger horse was first imported into the United States in 1958 from the mountains of the Austrian Tyrol. There are over 14,000 registered Haflingers in North America now, and the numbers are rapidly growing. The horse ranges from 52 to 59 inches tall and weighs from 800 to 1,200 pounds. The Haflinger is chestnut, ranging from honey blond to chocolate, with a mane and tail ranging from pure white to flaxen. The horse is known for its versatility--riding, driving and working. The Haflinger has a calm temperament, making it a fine children's horse.
